Sustainability: Energy and Recycling
Valley Asphalt believes in sustainability, which is why we incorporated warm mix asphalt into production at most of our facilities. We also embraced porous asphalt and recycling to help protect the environment.
We are ready for a challenge, whether the project is a commercial parking lot for our private customers or a complex airport mix. Asphalt is the sustainable material for constructing pavements because asphalt pavements require about 20% less energy to produce and construct than other pavements. As America’s most recycled product, asphalt pavements minimize the impact on the environment.
When appropriately designed and constructed, a road doesn’t wear out. Maintenance is simple: only the top layer is removed and replaced. This can be done quickly, even overnight, and it saves taxpayers money. Reclaimed material is then recycled, and the new overlaid road surface (which may also contain recycled material) is a good-as-new pavement. This is a truly sustainable construction process.
Products: Hot Mix Facilities
Our hot mix asphalt facilities have the ability to support a wide range of paving requirements. Our operators understand your paving needs and ensure a consistent product throughout your paving job.

NAPA – Ecological Award 2004 Finalist
HMA Mixing Facility, Plant #25, Troy, Ohio
Valley Asphalt was named a finalist in the competition for the prestigious 2004 NAPA Ecological Award for a Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Facility, cosponsored by Roads & Bridges Magazine.
Our plant in Troy, Ohio, is located in an industrial and residential neighborhood. We have taken a proactive approach in environmental stewardship with this facility. The plant is equipped with a Hauck Eco-Star Burner for tighter environmental controls of emission and noise. We use other controls such as water trucks, brooms and a truckload washing bay to assist with dust control around the plant’s paved entrances and lots.
