Stone for Piqua Materials is quarried from the Brassfield, Dayton
and Laural geological formations on the outskirts
of Piqua, Ohio. While Dayton and Laural
formations provide excellent stone products, the
Brassfield formation is one of the whitest
commercial limestone deposits in Ohio. During the
hundred-plus years it has been worked, it has
proved to be one of the most consistent in both
color and quality, thus making it perfect for
industrial uses.
The quarry has on-site rail loading
and sitsadjacent to I - 75 and only eighteen
miles north of I - 70, offering convenient
shipment either by rail or by truck. Piqua
Materials' stone production is processed into a
wide range of stone and filler products. They
